A House is Not a Home... Unless it's Ravenclaw House

The single most important part of the Harry Potter fan community is the age-old question "what house are you?", and if your answer is displeasing to the asker you will not be able to avoid a short lecture on why your house isn't the best. So, to keep that cycle going all of us at Scarletta took  a quiz that told us what we already knew. We're great. Also, we're all pretty different.

Can you guess who was sorted where? Let's find out:

Gryffindor:
Desirée

Gryffindors are known for being brave and natural leaders, with the sorting hat expecting them to have the traits of "daring, nerve, and chivalry". As the house of the main trio these guys get all the attention and glory in the books. That's not without reason, and Desirée is certainly talented at leading, keeping Josh and myself focused and productive. It should go without saying that they have produced some of the greatest wizards in history, with Albus Dumbledore standing as a lead example.

Hufflepuff:
Nancy
Sara

Hufflepuff house is the fairest and most genuine house in Hogwarts. Hufflepuffs are hard workers, patient and loyal, valuing fair play over underhanded tactics. They're endearing, kind and honest and therefore have strong friendships. Sara is obviously great with people and Nancy is probably the only person I know who could simultaneously manage Des, Josh, Sara and myself without the slightest hiccup. My favorite Hufflepuff is the author Newt Scamander, who penned Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, an author I wouldn't mind working with on some Scarletta Kids books if the world were a perfect place.

Slytherin:
Josh

(Josh is so proud of his Slytherin status I almost wish I could let him write this section myself, but alas, you'll have to accept my feeble attempts.)

Slytherin house, the house of the "ambitious, shrewd, and cunning", full of go-getters. Slytherins are cut throat, driven and have a highly developed sense of self-preservation. Slytherins are the greatest rivals of Gryffindor house, both in the books and in our offices. This natural rivalry is what I'll blame for the tradition of Josh and Des disagreeing on the smallest of details. Josh encompasses the ambitious and cunning aspects of the Slytherin house, at times frighteningly so. While Slytherins represent the majority of dark wizards they have produced some of the most staunch defenders of good, namely Horace Slughorn and Severus Snape, both Potions Masters, Heads of Slytherin House, and extremely helpful in taking down Voldermort.

Ravenclaw:
Denzel

Lastly, we come to Ravenclaw house. House of wit, wisdom, creativity, and the endless desire for knowledge. Ravenclaws are studious and extremely competitive, especially with each other. There is a certain prestige that Ravenclaw house has placed upon itself, and so strong is our desire to be synonymous with scholarly success that at times famous wizards or witches of great talent may be falsely claimed. I have never been surprised that Ravenclaw is my house, I am an arrogant, book-loving college student whose career dream is to work in the most prestigious museum in the nation. I am a Ravenclaw and a Ravenclaw I shall always be. My favorite famous Ravenclaw is Garrick Ollivander, the wandsmith behind Ollivander's Wand Shop.

So, what house are you? A mighty Gryffindor, a loyal Hufflepuff, a cunning Slytherin, or a wise Ravenclaw?

  1. Gryffindor. Not sure what pushed it over the edge, having a dog as a pet or sleeping on Sat. nights.
