Let's Hear a Hip-hip-hooray for ALA!

We're so excited for ALA's annual conference in California this weekend--or at least we will be as soon as we finish the million and one things we need to do to prepare! This week is proving to be crazy as we finalize travel arrangements, make sure all our lovely books are shipped correctly, pack our posters and press releases, and try to figure out if there's time in the schedule to visit Disney. This last one seems doubtful with all the other cool stuff going on.
If you're also going to be in Anaheim for ALA, make sure you remember to visit us! We'll be part of the Publisher Group West booth (#2566) and we've got plenty of stuff going on make it worth your while.

On Saturday, from 1-3pm, stop by the booth and meet Joan Charles, who illustrates our Lost in Lexicon series. While you're there, you can sign up for our newsletter and be entered in a raffle to win a copy of the newest Lexicon book, Ice Castle, and a Lost in Lexicon poster. We'll be drawing one lucky person's name on Saturday, so be sure to come by before then if you want to win! (fyi: Ice Castle isn't out until August, so you'll be the first of your friends to get their hands on a copy!) And if we're lucky, we'll have enough room in our suitcases to bring some puppets from Nalah and the Pink Tiger by Anne Sawyer-Aitch (some other puppets Anne has made are pictured on the left).
Well now that we've given all of you some stuff to be excited about, you should know that there's a ton of things going on that are making us excited (besides the aforementioned trip to Disney we are still debating). The top of our list is ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Award ceremony on Saturday from 10-11am on the PopTop Stage. One of our books, Hassie Calhoun by Pamela Cory, is nominated in the romance AND general fiction categories, so we'll be there anxiously awaiting the results.
Of course, we are also excited to talk to everyone about our books and meet tons of great librarians from all over the country. It's going to be an awesome time!
If you're not going to make it this year, don't fret, we'll be posting pictures and updates throughout the conference on our Facebook and Twitter pages!
